Voltaren Emulgel is used to treat inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints due to trauma (eg. sports injuries, sprains and strains), soft tissue rheumatism and localised rheumatic conditions, eg. bursitis, and for aches and pains, back, neck, and shoulder pain.
Diclofenac diethylammonium 11.6 mg/g.
Rub gently into the affected area 3 or 4 times daily. Do not use for more than 2 weeks unless under medical advice.
Do not use: on children under 12 years, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have an allergy to diclofenac, aspirin or any other NSAID. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before use if you have:asthma that you know is aggravated by the use of analgesics; ulcers, bleeding or any other serious disorder of the stomach or bowel; severe kidney disease or you are taking any other medicines.

Before taking diclofenac, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it. diclofenac can increase the side effects of ibuprofen, diclofenac diethylammonium or any other anti-inflammatory or pain medicine. If this happens, take it with food to minimize stomach irritation or ensure it is taken in the morning. Do not take it more than 3 times a day. Do not take in combination with other medicines called anti-inflammatory medicines or ibuprofen, diclofenac or other pain medicine. Ask your doctor if you are not sure whether any of your medicines are this kind of supplements.
Stomach upset, diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, headache, lack of appetite, stomach pain, joint pain or swelling, sore throat, nausea, stomach or intestinal cramps, yellowing of the skin or eyes, swelling or pain in your limbs, generally feeling though you may feel a little dizzy or lightheaded, feeling tired or sleepy or you may have difficulty balancing or taking your daily dose, feeling faint, loss of consciousness, headache, dizzy or more than recommended, fever, generalised confusion, severe or persistent skin rashes; severe, very severe or persistent skin rashes; signs of an allergic reaction such as hives, inflammation of the face, lips, tongue, or throat; difficulty in breathing; or any other unusual condition.
This medicine is not suitable for children under 12 years. Use with caution where possible. In summary:

Voltaren Emulgel Extra Strength contains the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) diclofenac diethylamine. Diclofenac diethylamine works to relieve pain and reduce inflammation (swelling). The technology in Voltaren Emulgel Extra Strength helps the gel to penetrate deeply into the skin to deliver diclofenac diethylamine to the site of pain. Voltaren Emulgel Extra Strength can be applied twice daily (morning and evening) to last up to a day.
